    [description] => La obra de Myra Landau (Bucarest, 1926-Alkmaar, 2018) resulta esencial para el desarrollo de la abstracción geométrica durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX; sin embargo, su trabajo es poco conocido fuera de los círculos especializados. Esta exposición atiende la urgencia de dar visibilidad al trabajo de mujeres artistas que han quedado fuera del discurso historiográfico, a la vez que recupera la contribución de la artista a la historia de la abstracción geométrica y, en particular, a la geometría sensible. Este concepto, propuesto por el crítico brasileño Roberto Pontual para la exposición colectiva América Latina. Geometria sensivel (1978), refiere a una forma de abstracción geométrica que se aleja de la línea dura y el compás riguroso asociados con lo racional. La geometría sensible apuesta por la línea gestual y de carácter más libre, en contraparte a la abstracción pura y los trazos fríos. Esta investigación enfatiza de manera cronológica el trabajo desarrollado por Landau durante su estancia en México -entre 1959 y 1994-, con lo que contribuye de manera significativa a reconfigurar la escena artística ligada a la abstracción mexicana y latinoamericana de entonces.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The work of Myra Landau (Bucharest, 1926-Alkmaar, 2018) was essential to the development of geometric abstraction during the second half of the twentieth century, yet it is little known outside of specialist circles. This exhibition responds to the need to give greater visibility to the work of female artists who have been left out of the historiographic discourse while recovering her contributions to the history of geometric abstraction, particularly sensitive geometry. This term, coined by the Brazilian critic Roberto Pontual for the collective exhibition América Latina. Geometria sensivel (1978), refers to a form of geometric abstraction that stands apart from the hard lines and rigorous rhythms associated with rationality. Sensitive geometry opts for gestural lines and has a freer character, in counterpoint to pure abstraction and cold brushstrokes. Moving chronologically, this study places particular emphasis on the work done by Landau during her time in Mexico-from 1959 to 1994-and contributes to meaningfully reconfiguring the art scene revolving around Mexican and Latin American abstraction during this period.
